ABOUT “DO IT”
“Do It” is about being handed the keys to life — and still choosing to drive your own way.
You’re told to stay in school, further your education and follow the road laid out for you. But for some kids, the road looks different. It’s hustling. Getting money. Taking risks. Dodging police. Trying to turn whatever hand you were dealt into something bigger.
The record isn’t telling anybody which road to choose. It’s about something simpler:
Whatever you decide to do with your life — DO IT to the best of your ability.
“Do It” is the second single from Yestrdy’s upcoming album, Baby Shay, arriving October 21.
“Dropped out of school, Just for folks to throw the book at us.”

BABY SHAY
FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM
Baby Shay is Yestrdy’s story.
Rooted in Compton and shaped by memory, survival and the choices that come with growing up, the album looks back at the moments that made him who he is today.
Musically, Baby Shay pulls from the West Coast records of the ’90s and early 2000s, combining those influences with a darker, cinematic world of its own.
“Do It” is the second chapter being released from that story.

ABOUT YESTRDY
Yestrdy is a rapper, singer-songwriter and producer from Compton, California, blending West Coast roots, melody and honest storytelling into a sound built from his own experiences.
His work extends beyond his own catalog, with songwriting credits connected to artists including Wale, T-Pain and DaniLeigh, along with music placed across television and film.
Now entering the Baby Shay era, Yestrdy is bringing the focus back to where it started — his own story. Drawing from Compton, survival, ambition and the choices that shaped him, he’s building a world where the music, visuals and storytelling all belong to the same universe.
